My Second Pen

Another slimline but this one is in Buckeye Burl and black titanium. Thanks for the tip on turning my blanks all the way down to the bushings. I'm learning a lot from y'all and it's much appreciated.

I find it interesting to turn a piece of wood and see what's inside.

Thats a nice pen....what kind of finish are you using?

This pen has several coats of lacquer. I prefer (for now) more of a satin finish as opposed to a mirror finish. I'll probably start working on applying a ca/blo finish in the near future. I have so much to learn. I feel like a second grader hanging out with you big boys.

It was a Rockler slimline black titanium kit I picked up at a local shop. I didn't see it on Rockler's website. I thought it might be a PSI kit since they carry a lot of PSI stuff, but I couldn't find it on PSI's site either.

Brilliant work on your 2nd pen, it may be a slimline but it has a beautiful piece of wood and a great plating. []
