My second Apex

This is my second apex pen, this time in acrylic. The finish is gun metal. I really like the design of the Apex pens, but I must say, doing one in acrylic is much more challenging than wood. But I got it done, and am fairly happy with the shape, even though it's slightly different than my first. For some reason, there are fine scratches visible in certain light. More so than the majority of my acrylic pens, even though I spent probably twice as much time polishing this one. But to the naked eye, it still looks pretty good. I'm happy with the blank, too. I don't remember the name of it, but it's one of the acrylic acetates.

One of the design aspects I like about the Apex, is the plunger turned from the same blank. I think it's a very cool feature.

Here is a shot of my first Apex for comparison. You can see the shapes are similar, but different. Not sure which I prefer.

Great color and the plunger adds class. The flared grip is also a good idea. Nice job.

I've made several. The first was for LOML and she swooned. I usually try new things out on her cause she has excellent taste.. It's a bit heavy but the feel in your hand is way better than I expected. Not a hot seller but certainly one I will keep on the table.
