I finished my PITH pen and mailed it to traderdon55 before I went to Oregon to visit my son and his family. It should be there by now so will show a couple pictures.
I haven't done a lot of segmented pens and at first tried a few things that sounded great in my head, but had terrible results on the lathe. At last I got one to hold together and line up pretty well. This is bloodwood and holly with brass strips between them. It was fun and with all of my new found knowledge I may try another down the line.

The pictures do not do this pen justice. It looks much better than the pictures. Larry sent it in a nice leather box and for packing material he included a spalted sycamore blank, a Kauri blank he brought back from New Zealand, and a pheasant feather blank. As nice as this pen is I feel like I am coming out on the better end of this trade.
