No thanks to USPS my PITH pen finally arrived so I'll post the picture (such as it is). It's a gun metal Zen wrapped in PINE laminated veneer lumber. It's "construction grade" beam material made from southern yellow pine veneers. I looks like plywood but all the veneers run parallel rather than alternating cross grain. It's difficult to turn because of varying density of the veneers and glue. The glue lines add interesting stripes and the various grain add some interesting features as well. Here's a picture of the finished products with 7-8 layers of CA, MM to 12K and polish. Thanks for looking.

It's a beautiful pen, I'm afraid Gary's picture doesn't do it justice... the sides you can't see have pinstripes from where the veneers are laminated together. Great CA finish on it, too!

Thanks for a great first PITH experience for me!

I took longer than I expected to get around to taking photos! Here's another view that shows some of the side stripes. It might also show some wear from use .
