My Pentel Experiment

I had to give it a try, so after 3 failures, I decided the way to prevent the splitting was to put some "pearl" at each end....it worked...much better as there was not grain that so easily split. Cocobolo with dark blue pearl....home brew finish. Comments and critiques welcome. (Excuse the photo....I'm working on them!)

No problem with the clip yet...it is on pretty tight and has not moved around...I did hold my breath as I moved it up, hoping not to scratch it.. a bit of liquid wax helped the slide.
