My pen for the swap

Here is the pen I made for Gary, CaptG, in the recent pen swap. He emailed me tonight saying he got it so I guess it's OK to post it here now.

I stayed with something simple but hopefully tasteful. It is a Jr Gent closed end with bright red and gold amboyna burl finished in CA.

Even with your good photo skills, this picture does not do this pen justice. George signed up as a "rookie", but as I examine and admire this beautiful work, one word comes to mind. "Sandbagger" LOL, really George, I think you underestimate yourself. Thank you very much and I hope you are as happy with my work as I am with yours.[][][]
