I offered up a pen, for a cancer treatment fundraiser, on a hunting forum I frequent.
I left it open ended, so the buyer could get whatever they wanted. I gave some generic pictures of a Jr. Gent and a Majestic Jr. as possible options for the winning bidder. The bidding was opened at $50. Within a day, the high bid was $600.
The winner said he wanted a Jr. Gent that would match a custom knife he'd bought, with spalted pecan scales.
My photography still sucks with my little point and shoot camera, but you can get the idea. The wood looks MUCH better, in person.
I get a little giddy when I can make a nice profit, selling a $100 pen.
I felt an indescribable pride, making this pen and giving it away!
