Below you will find the most difficult pen I have turned yet. Thanks to Roy (oklahoman) for the inspiration, and to Robert (snowman56) for the blanks and the great information about how to handle them as will as the process required to get them to the point of turning.

Roy, I can't claim the beauty you produced, but I am proud of my first effort with a gator jaw blank. Jr. Statesman in Black Ti. Comments welcome.

Thanks for the comments. The pith lines were filled with embossing powder as recommended by Robert, then the blanks were buffed and finished with CA. This was my first attempt with Gator and it took me about 7 hours total time. I tell my friends that the pen took 3 hours and the other 4 were to catch the Gator and convince it to give me its jaw.:)

Seven hours for your frist one is not to bad.Be glad you don't have to do all the prep. work to get the blank's or your time would be doubled.
