In between glue-ups, I had a little time to turn a pen or two.
It's Marc's fault I did this one:
Gunmetal modified slimline without centerband hardware using crosscut black cherry;
finish is CA and buffed out with plastic polish.
Cool pen to turn, streams of curly shavings were floating off the skew while
turning this one:

I'll tell you what is wrong with this one......

It's not in my hands![:D]

Seriously, I am not much into slim lines anymore, but this one is really nice!

Thanks for your comments.
I got a question from someone asking about the mating area.
In case anyone else is curious:
The lower barrel fits inside the upper barrel.
The tube in the upper barrel ends where the chamfer nearest the clip begins.
The upper barrel is drilled twice:
part way with an 8MM bit (to where the tube will be) then all the way thru with a 7MM bit.
The lower barrel is drilled and turned normally then parted to the tube and tapered so that
within the wood CB it is a snug wood-to-wood fit.

Like Mike said, I'm not much into slims anymore but I've still got a bunch of kits and making
modified slims is certainly a good avenue for experimentation and gettin' the creative juices
going.
