Nice work, Louis. The Morado deserves a better finish than Shellawax, IMHO.

I take it you do not like Shellawax... I haven't had good results with CA/BLO. I have another pen on which I'm trying wipe-on poly as a finish.

Nice work on both pens. I use the shellawax on top of ca/blo on some of my work and it does fine. But I worry about the longevity of it and would hate for a great-looking pen like your morado to turn colors because the wax wore off.

Louis, no I am not a shellawax fan. I don't do much CA or CA/BLO finishes either. I prefer Enduro, Unaxol or lacquer. I really like your Morado pen, and as such, feel it deserves a long-lasting finish.

I never tried lacquer and have no idea what Enduro is (although I've seen this named here a few times before). Unaxol, that's the first time I see this name.

I'm still on my first year of turning, I have lots of stuff left to learn.

Louis great work on both pens, I would love to see an Enduro finish on that Morado as it would last a lot longer than Shellwax.
