Hi Brian,
I'm using CA glue but only 2 coats of medium as I didn't want that thick glass look, then finished with a bees wax polish. CA is great for things like a pen that is going to be 'fingered' a lot as it adds protection.
But I'm a natural oiled finish type person for the most of my other woodwork.
