Finally got to turn my True Stone blanks I scored from Richard (ranbcrafts) a while back. Following reading about all the problems others have had with some stone type blanks here in Aus, I was pleasantly surprised how easy these were to turn.
The only problem I had was with filling an air hole I found in one of the blanks during final sanding. I spent a lot of time filling and re-sanding (3 times until I was happy with the colour) with crushed bits combined with sanding dust, I forgot to check the dia and went under. I could have built the surface back up with CA, but didn't notice until I assembled it.
Anyway, still happy with result, love the white one (I can see one of my wedding feather pens using one of these blanks).
Kits are Black Titanium and Gold Titanium Barons. Photos – group shot/Asian Pink Coral/White+Gold Matrix/Banded Malachite/Turquoise Web/Imperial Jade
Cheers
