There is nothing overly exciting about this pen to look at but it is the first one I have turned from wood that I stabilized my self. It was a piece of driftwood that was partially solid but with a lot of soft, punky areas.
I took my Harbor Freight pressure pot and converted it to a vacuum chamber. Now, with different lids, it can be hooked up to the compressor or the vacuum pump. The conversion was pretty easy.
Now that I've had initial success, the world has opened up. I can combine stabilized wood with alumilite or use any kind of wood I find.

The outside may have, although not visible. The piece was about 4" thick. I only used wood from the inner part.
