Here is my first slim pencil.

Second writing instrument though.

Thanks for looking.

Nice work Frank. The lower barrel appears to be slightly concave or is that an optical illusion?

Must be an illusion but the wood on the bottom piece appear significantly darker than the top. If you're using the same wood throughout a pencil - I would match them up better.

Other than that - good work!

Good fit on the pen. The bottom looks a little concave....is it true or a trick of the eye? The concave (if it is there) puts a nice touch to it. The top piece looks like teak. Overall, great job for your second "writing utensil"!

It is a little concave before the nib.

For those that don't know. In the the Penn State 7mm kit you receive 20 predrilled mini blanks and 10 predrilled maxi blanks. Both are rosewood.

I did the best I could matching the wood.

Looking at the maxi blanks which are at least 5 inches long, the holes are drilled from both ends. In several of the blanks, the holes end up off center in the middle.

I am taking my time to figure out the best use of the wood for the rest of the kit items.
