I made my first rollerball, and Im pretty proud of how it turned out. The ebony does show EVERYTHING and if you look super close you can see tiny tiny scratches(maybe not in the pics). So light that you would never be able to tell on any wood that isnt pitch black.

Let me know what you think, I personally like how the black and chrome looks.

Wow great looking pen. Nice work. Sux about he scratches. May have to get some Abralon to sand it with. It is padded and goes to 4000grit.

I agree. I like how the black and chrome go together, and think it looks masculine yet elegant at the same time.

I haven't even yet warmed up to that particular kit, but think that is a nice looking pen.

Thanks for the replies everybody.

I have micromesh 1500-3800 which seems to be plenty before going to some plastic polish, but I have been using rubbing compund instead of micromesh. It is much faster and I really can not tell on any wood besides ebony. And I just learned that a few hours ago haha.

After rubbing compound i go to polishing compund or right now its meguiars ultimate compound. Then I go to plastx, or novus #2 for a finish thats like glass as far as i can tell.

Edit: thats after sanding to 600grit, or 1000 if i see some laying around.
