I made a post yesterday showing my son's first pen and you guys were great with all your comments. It really made him feel proud and I appreciate that.

I promised to show a couple of my pens. I have been playing on the lathe for a while but just started turning pens a couple of weeks ago and I am having a blast.

Heres a few of my pens...

Slimlines- Scrub Oak pencil, Box Elder, Box Elder burl and Russian Olive

A Box Elder burl Cigar pencil. I turned a pen to go with this to give to my dad for fathers day. I took it to work to show it off and I lost it somewhere :(

So today I turned these to give to him. Classic American style Box Elder burl.

I also turned this one today to give to me step-dad. Classic American style Oak.

Thanks for looking and Happy Turning,

Looking good, isn't it fun to make these things?

When I started turning pens earlier this year, I made about five slim lines, then jumped to other kits thinking the slim lines were just to learn on.

When I see photos such as yours, using the box elder burl on a slimline, it makes me rethink things and now I might go back and turn some really nice looking slim lines.

Geez, beautiful job on the pens! Being that you only started this a couple of weeks ago, you get extra kudos! Can't beat that Boxelder Burl.
