This pen, I think, turned out great. Made from Curly Maple with a shellawax finish. Need to try the CA finish one of these days. The pen was scanned and then cleaned up and resized in Corel Paint Shop Pro X. Thanks for Looking

Hi Steve!

That is a nice looking pen! I like curly maple a lot, it's one of my favorite woods! The lighting makes the centerband look small, even though I know it isn't. Interesting!

That pen blank was the least figured of three I got in a box of scraps I got off of ebay. A flat rate box about 3/4 full of odd and ends that I paid about $18 bucks for (including shipping). I'm saving the other 2 for later when I decide what kit I'm going to use. This is the third pen out of that box. The first one was made from buckeye burl, second (I will post) made from osage orange. There is lots of other pieces to make pens out of. Thanks for the nice comments, it's a bit of an ego boost for a beginner.
