I finally turned my first pen after struggling with ca/blo finish on scrap wood. It is by no means perfect or even close, but I am very pleased with my first try. It is a slim line made from red birch.

Great looking first try. You should see mine. Its a very good example of how not to turn a pen.:eek: Thats what the LOML looked like when she saw it. Keep up the good work and the addiction will make you better.

That is very nice, and 500% better than my first Keep it forever, and pull it out every couple of years to compare how far you've come.
