This is my first Jr. Gent fountain pen. The blank is Maple Burl that I believe Steve (NittanyLion) sent me a while back. It was a joy to turn and finish. I sanded to 12000 mm and finished with finished with WFT. I really like this kit it been many years since I've used a fountain pen I've forgotten how nice they write. All C&C are welcome.

Thanks Jim S, Charlie , Jan and Jason for your very nice comments, It is Maple Jim S. Charlie; I have two pen for the contest that I have not posted. I really like working with burls. I'm hoping to find some nice blanks at the MAPG.

Thank you Chris for that nice complement. I think the last time I used a fountain pen was when I was in the 4th or 5th grade (round 1964/65).

Thanks Steve and Dan. I'm very happy with the finish on this one, :biggrin:I put on 4 coats let it set for about 10 minutes then lightly sanded with 3600 mm, then applied 10 more coats. Let it set for about 3 hours then lightly buffed with 6000 - 12000 mm. Steve I'm not hooked, I can stop anything.... really I can, but please don't make me stop.

That is a nice wood grain and matches the pen. Sometimes these come out so well I dont want to write with it getting finger prints all over it.

I love the Jr. Gent as a pen kit(especially from timberbits). The cost is spot on to actually make a profit(without 'hosing' the customer), quality is high enough, and just about timber makes them....WOOHOO!

And nothing says WOOHOO! like a piece of burl!

Nice job. Beautiful fountain pen. Great looking finish. Taking the time to do it right gets great results.
