I thought I would start the new year out with something easy, figured a one piece trim line with a freebee blank from Exotic Blanks would do just fine. It is alternate cobalt, I started out with making the finial on the blank before I cut it off. I really liked the way the finial came out, so I started getting stoked about the rest of the pen. I drilled it out on the lathe and when i got to the very end, I heard the dreaded crack. It didn't completely blow out but it did crack about 3/4" down the blank. I put some thin CA in the crack and clamped it together to see if it would stay together. After re-drilling to clean out any CA build up and gluing the tube in I started turning it down. I had to keep stopping to keep applying CA to the cracks, at the end I think it held together pretty well. Had one tiny chip pop off but with the clip on, it completely covers it and only has one visible CA filled crack in the second pic.

Thanks for looking
