Thanks to Lou for the nib and insert, and for the tutorial. This walnut pen is a gift for a friend's wife,
who recently acquired a calligraphy set.

Oh, also pictured is my first 4-cut knot. The honey dipper was made for my MIL.

When the window first opened all I could see was the honey dipper, I thought that was a rather odd looking dip pen. After scrolling down - that's a great looking dip pen and a nice honey dipper as well. Nice job on your first knot, too.

Thanks for all the comments, folks. I had a lot of trouble cutting smoothly once this bad boy got thin. The last 1/16" or so was all sandpaper. I tried supporting it with my finger behind and slightly ahead of the cut direction, but didn't seem to help much.
