I had a ball doing this one. The kit is a Jr Gent II and the blank is Golden Dawn Polyresin from Exotic Blanks. I turned it on the mandrels from AZ Silhouette.
I'm not crazy about the center band, got to do something different there.

Looks good. I've just made my first few closed-end pens as well. And, I also do not like the way the centerband stands out on them. If you think of something, please share.

is the outer gold ring and the black ring removable?


If so, then you can do what i did when i made my Classic American fountain for myself...


I drilled the blank for the tube, and while the blank was in the lathe, i chaged bits, and drilled to accomodate the thicker portion of the CB, so the only thing exposed is the outer gold ring.

You can compare the two closed end pens in my gallery to see the difference. the black and red one has the "tucked" CB. The gold and black pen has a standard CB.
