Here is my first cigar pen, I used some wood a friend of mine gave me he said it is spalted maple to make my blank. First time using spalted maple I'm not a big fan of the species of wood but the pen turned out great. All pieces fit like a glove.

Yea I like the style as well, its a heavier pen. Up until now I have only turned slimlines. Was a little nervous starting out turning it but it went smooth. I am looking forward to turning many more. Thanks for the feedback.

Yours almost appears to be ambrosia maple, hard to tell can just see a small piece of other side. Lots of variation in types of spalt, maple , etc.
