Completed this pen today. Has minor flaws in it but generally happy the way it came out. Hope you like it.

Even my young eyes have trouble seeing those mini threads, but I do see them! Great looking pen, though! I can't wait to start a kitless myself!

That's a nice pen.

So from I can tell, the cap isn't threaded, but is a friction fit, right?

The cap is threaded. used very fine thread 0.7 mm pitch, not showing well in the photo taken with cell phone.
Ok, I can see them. I thought since I couldn't see them in the cap, that the cap was a friction fit on the shoulder past the section. That's interesting how you used the shoulder. I may have to give that a try.
