I finally did it! After being inspired by Eagle's antler & shell casing pens I decided it was time to make some pens. I had done a fair amount of turning before (mostly duck & goose calls) but never pens. Here are my first 5 attempts, all made with slimline kits from CSUSA. They are from l-r:

Walnut, Zebrawood, Fishtail Oak w/fishing clip, Walnut (slightly modified shape) and Deer Antler w/rifle clip.

Now I'm hooked!!! You people are a constant source of inspiration! Thanks!!

Good start off! Wish my first ones had turned out as good...sigh. BTW, I have been thinking of starting to make some game calls. What is a good website to get information?

Thanks for the kind words. I sent you an email with some call making info. If you need anything else let me know. I'm not exactly an "expert" but have made enough mistakes to at least have an opinion or two. I'll be glad to help.
