Cento and I just sent off our goods for the IAP Pen Competition. We had such a hard time choosing between this and another work of his. This one got cut. I really dig the grain of this wood and shape of his pen. It feels nice and heavy in the hand too.

I tried shooting on seamless gray backdrop for a change. Used a big soft box camera left. Shot at f11 and still didn't get everything in focus!! I like how the neutral gray allows for the true color of the wood to really come through.

grteat looking pen. nice work on the photo also. never thought of the grey background having almost always used white. will give it a try. i have found that getting back a ways and using telephoto makes it easier to adjust depth of field. usually use around f6 to f9 range

What are the woods used to make this pen? Looks great. Good luck in the contest with the pen you did choose.
