I am really enjoying the segmenting. I have several ideas floating in my head. No just to get the time to put them on paper and glue them up!
The first pen is the brother to the Sedona I posted over the weekend. Black Walnut, Maple & Padauk. I discovered that I had been living life on the edge the first time around. I didn't think about the Padauk staining the Maple and it really didn't the first time around. But, oh did I have a mess this time. The maple ended up look almost purple. Thanks to the search engine, I tried skewing all the stain off and then aplying the CA with no sanding. Worked like a charm.
The second pen is a U of F blank I picked up at WC yesturday. I think my eight-year-old is going to get it. But I have made her disavow UGA to get it. Looks pretty good for my 1st try at acrylics.
