Ranga ebonite yes from [emoji1128] India, better more flexible order from them on eBay or email direct, good people to deal with

Thanks. I order 10 31" rods from them through Amazon and had no issues, unless you count trying to get the package open.

they do wrap them pretty well, i meant the Ranga folks told me have more ordering options via their ebay listings

Wonderful finished pen!

A random question... The finished pen is very muted in colors and striations (not a critique - It is a very attractive finished pen), but the third picture is very vibrant??? Maybe some oil on it???

I ask this as I have bought some Ebonite blanks from the same source, but just have not had the time to play with them. How does ebonite react to drilling, turning, sanding, finishing, etc? (I will do a search for each of these phases, just asking).

ebonite takes some getting used to, too fast , gets hot, can warp, or dulls tools, some times have to adjust drill size, go up or down in size or nearest letter/fractional/metric bit, stick with decimal inch measurements, i usually go up to 2000 wet, then use nova, after a point it's as shiny as it's going to get , some oil brings a little more gloss but only temporarily, don't use finishes the joy of ebonite is the warm feel when writing , some rod stock is harder then others , never sure till get into it
