I am having so much fun! Here's one from a pine cone! I am very pleased with how it turned out. The second one is from Sweetgum balls in white resin. :)

Excellent Pens Sue.
Beautiful Blanks, Did you Cast them?
I Love the Sweet Gum, Very Spectacular.
Nicely Turned, I am not sure if the Transition at the Nose Cone of the Sweet Gum, is Smooth, it looks like it could be a little on the Large size, but it may be just the angle of the Photograph.
Congratulations, Keep them Coming.
Brian.

It just goes to show that something as seeming worthless as sweetgum balls can create something so beautiful.

Makes me regret the eight that I had taken down when I bought my house in NC 16 years ago. However, I did not know about pen turning at the time.

Just a question do you do anything special to them before casting, other than making sure that they are dry?
