More Pens

The two on the right are PSI Polaris Gld Pen & Pencil w/Purpleheart The two on left are the Satin Polaris Pen & Pencil w/Machiche and two in the middle are slimline Pen & Pencil w/Purpleheart. Had problems on two of them and had to turn the broken wood off the barrels but stayed with them and they turned out ok.

I tried to enhance the scans but still haven't got this thing right.

So far, my purpleheart looks more brown than the purple you were able to get. Did you soak it in white vinegar?

I cook mine, Bill. 350 oven for about 10 minutes. Turns it a beautiful purple much like these.

Do you cook it before you glue them up??
I am thinking the heat will soften the glue.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I didn't do anyrhing to the wood, but I picked up a piece in woodcraft which was 2"x2"x2' and cut it down to blanks. It is pretty, or as JohnP suggests purpley.

I cook em before I cut em. 3/4" blanks--whole.
