Finally got this finished after many issues.
This is the fist of these I have made and this one I'll keep at my desk.
The wood is macascar ebony and walnut on the ends with an aluminum band between. I lost count of the CA layers.

Karl, woodpenpro has the monarch and the dinero. Both are basically the same as the panache but cheaper due to the lower grade plating.

Thanks all for the kind words.
This kit has some 'bling', but there are 2 issues with it that keep me from buying another.
First is the fact that there are about 6 starting points on the threads. That makes the chances of getting the grain pattern lined up about the same as winning the lottery!
Second is that the internal thread section is a hard plastic instead of nylon. That hard plastic is real susceptible to getting damaged by either pushing too hard while threading it together or from cross threading.
I remember making a cigar pen with a panache kit and I seem to recall that those threads were metal to metal.
Anyone know if that is correct?
