Modified Robusto

A friend of mine asked me if I could make a pipe tamper for him. I modified a Robusto from Woodcraft and came up with this. Not sure what the wood is...it came in a bag of unmarked blanks.

When it's closed, it's about 4¼", handy for shirt or pants pockets.

that's different, does it have a scraper as well??

No, he didn't ask for one, and the lower barrel is so short I couldn't figure out where to put it. Not being a smoker, I don't know how important a scraper might be during an evening out.

The lighter wood looks like red oak to me. What is the wood with the tamper open? Looks like sapele, or perhaps spanish cedar.
