This last weekend in penturning was a mixed bag. I experienced the following:

1. Did a Princess pen for a customer with a simple segmentation in mother of pearl and black acrylic and forgot to paint the inside of the MOP resulting in a beautiful pen where the white MOP fades to brass at the nib. I have already glued up the replacement lower section.

2. Received some amazing curly Mimosa and screwed up the CA finish on the first one I made. White flecks in the finish (I have researched the issue and will sand it all down and redo it.

3. Made a fountain pen for a friend's daughter with the friend's assistance. He picked the kit and material and although it came out technically excellent, I don't like it at all... I will not post photos of it.

4. Bought a Bealle lathe-mounted polishing system and used it on an acrylic pen and I love it... it works great and saves me a ton of time with MM.

5. Made 3 beautiful pens that I want to show off.

The first is a Majestic Jr in Cebloplast Festival from Ed.
Then a Zen in Burning Sunset from Slabsblanksandboards.
Lastly a Hancock in Teal Temptress from Ed. (I used the Bealle on this one)

Absolutely Outstanding Pens, Eric.
All three so different and each is Beautiful.
Superb Blanks, Excellent Fit and Finish. Terrific Photographs.
All three are so beautiful, and of course while I do have my own Personal Choices, I am not going to relegate one, by picking another above it.
Congratulations,
Brian.

Very nice pens. I especially like the Lazerlinez component pen. I like that blank.

As far as the problems, welcome to pen turning. None of us makes perfect pens every time. My latest post was a repair that I decided to completely segment as if it had been made that way from the beginning. You would not know that pen as repaired and that is what it is all about. It is not if we have problems it is when we have problems. The question is what do you do when you have them?

That Teal Temptress blank had so much more life than I expected. It's amazing.

Mike, your pens are so technically excellent, and your designs are so refined and beautiful, that I am surprised to learn that they aren't divinely sourced.

Thanks to all of you for the encouragement.

That's another great group of pens Eric. If you really want to have some fun, pop out the crystal on the majestic next time you make one of those & turn an insert to replace the crystal.

I also love my Bealle buffing system. Saves a ton of time.
