I had a fellow who wanted a Sierra Elegant Beauty pen, but I didn't have any pre-made in stock. He looked at some other pens and decided that he wanted a dark wood and a satin finish plating. I made up four barrels, and took four different kits for him to choose from; giving him sixteen different possible choices. He ended up changing his original plan completely and took a BOW on a Black Titanium / Titanium Gold.

The four barrels were all turned from blanks I had received in the 2010 Super Bowl Pool. They were Rosewood, Champhor, Amboyna Burl and BOW.

Now that is marketing, let the customer choose everything and then assemble it for him. Congratulations. That ended up being a real good looking pen.

That BOW is beautiful! I really need to get some of those blanks. I agree with Charles, fantastic customer service to ensure the customer is happy. I would have bought all of them though, ha ha ha.
