Yesterday I went to see Constant, I know your thinking "not again", yes again. He gave me a pen blank to turn and had no idea what it was. I told him I would make a pen and post it. Well here it is. My vote is for Redwood Burl. It was stabalized with his new material. No smell to speak of at all, it just made a real fine powder. I sanded and finished it with med ca, then mm up to 12k. Thanks for your help, and THANK YOU to Constant for the blank. Russell

My guess is also Redwood, I have done a lot of Redwood lace and the wood fibers are very similar. The wood was kind of oily when I stabilized it but is clear stabilize and not dyed. I bought a lot of these blocks but was not sure of the type.
