Yes i agree that the gold does not go at all 
The purpose of turning these acrylics is so i could get a feel for working with the material. now i know what not to do to make them blow up (lost two in the process!) il move on to some new designs i have in mind combining these with metal work. its on those ones where il pay a little more attention to centre bands & finials
