Michael Angelo:s Cigar

My friend Michael Angelo (Yes, thats his real name) spent the afternoon here eating pizza, drinking beer,telling stories and pretending to learn how to make a pen. I found a real punkey maple log in the burn pile and rolled it over to find a nice size chunk of burl. We cut off a piece and was able to use it for a pen..Mike wanted to learn to do the cigar pen so he got to see it go from a log to the finished pen..He is now the proud owner of this pen so if he tells anyone that he made it, now the truth is out

Finish is Ca/Blo followed by lacquer

The grain patter makes it look like flames are just under the finish.
