Got my hands on some thick stock aluminum, so I had to give it a try.....before you beat me up, I know my fit is off on the nib. Original idea was to finish with CA over the aluminum section, but that didn't come out too well.....So I took it off and its good enough for a giveaway. The band is two sections of aluminum and a piece of an old Steelers sign:). Wood is willow burl with a thick cherry celtic cross.

Looks great to me! Forgive my ignorance, but it something like that just turned on a wood lathe with the same chisels, or is that done on a metal lathe and then matched up?

Great work!

Michael,

It's all on the wood lathe, with lots of sharpening. I first started by cutting a big square chunk,so I had to round it off with. My bandsaw(wood blade)as best as I could. My skew worked best at keeping a clean cut. Thanks for looking.

I really like the looks of that knot with the thick wood Steve. That front section looks good and reminds me of the comfort pen. I bet it would look really good with beads in it!
