That is pretty special Andy. What is the material? Looks like clay or porcelain or similar. I'm intrigued as to how you centered and held it for drilling.
How's Ratingen? I've been there several times for work ( ABB Calor Emag )
Cool..I just learned something I have no idea why, but I always thought that meerschaum was a pipe type or brand of pipe, I didn't realise that it was the material. Thanks
That takes a lot of skill to even make that. Meerschaum is both fragile & brittle.
It's also very delicate. A lot like soapstone.
Congrats on making a unique pen my friend.
Andrew no words other than great, beautiful. Coming from 60 smokes a day for the second but lasting time to now I kicked the habit in 1962.
Coincidentally my Mum and Dad owned a couple of Tobacconist Shops that sold gangbusters, my Mum specialised in Quality pipes especially in Meerschaum but I never have seen a holder like this.
Well seen and made mate full marks for innovation with total success.

Outstanding Pen Andrew,
Glorious Re-use of the Meerschaum Cigarette Holder, as the Blank.
That was a lot of material to remove in such a fragile Material, Well done. I am glad it was You and Not Me, doing the drilling.
Fantastic Post,
Congratulations,
Brian.
