May be the first time anyone tried segmenting this way.

I haven't been turning long and have been wanting to try segmenting. Sitting in my shop the other night. Saw my Incra iBOX (jig for making box joints) sitting on my table saw. Got the idea of using it to make a segmented blank. Grabbed a chunk of Macassar Ebony and stabilized Holly (the most contrasting woods I had). Next thing I knew I had a blob of wood that looked like a pen blank covered in ca. The next morning I managed to drill a fairly straight hole through it and turned this one piece slim.

It's not great (fit at the nib needs some more work and all I did to finish was sand with mm and a coat of wax)but I think the iBOX has great potential for future segmenting projects.
