I appreciate all the comments. This has become one of my favorite woods to work with. The grain in each piece has so much movement that I always look forward to seeing the finished product. This patterning is caused by beetles burrowing into the trees. This wood is of Scandinavian origin.

The wood is Masur Birch (Latin name: Betula Verrucosa) and I purchased it from Craft Supplies item # 206-9222
