This is a maple burl stylus I was fairly happy with, and gave as a gift to friend who put my up for a few days on a trip back East.

I started with the Slim Style Ballpoint Stylus from Woodcraft, but leave off the center band and basically use the proportions of a Euro pen for the middle. I've made quite a few pens with this design and I like it a lot. (Does this qualify as "semi-custom?")

This one has a contrasting center band (Kingwood, I think) and a bit of contrasting wood at the top - both due, honestly, not to design considerations but because the burl blew out there. But I like the look and will start incorporating it more purposefully.

I don't know if it qualifies for semi-custom, but I sure like it. I agree with you that the euro length is better, and custom centerbands just make them look so much better (IMHO).
