Luckily I turned the lathe off just in time to find the large hole in the blank. New to this so filled it with thick CA and finished turning.

Looks great to me!!! I was about to turn a roadster tonight, but once I realized the two end bushings were a little different diameter I quit for the night to look up the correct placing. Hopefully mine will look as good as yours does!

Looks nice! I've had pens with filled voids like that sell quickly--it sort of adds interest to the wood, I think. Unless the void is right to the tube, I'll usually fill it like you did. If you can see brass, then some sawdust/shavings and thick CA will take care of it.
