I made one of these for fun one afternoon, and they have been a big hit. Maple burl and Montana whitetail shed antler. Ultra cigar pen kit.
Finished with CA and micromesh.
Enjoy!

beautiful pen. if you don't mind me asking, how do you cut you antler. i've turned quite a few antler but i've never segmented so i've always been able to simply square the ends win an end mill.
thanks.

After I pick what piece I want for the inlay, I drill it and glue the tube. I center it as best as I can. Then I put it on the lathe and round it out and square the ends with a parting tool. When I cut the wood, I measure each end of the tube showing on the top and match the pattern up all the way down. I use 3 ply guitar pic for the accent. If you want to see more pictures of the segmenting process and I can email them to you.
