Here is one of my first tries at pressure impregnation of Manzanita Burl. This burl had lots of cracks in it from the drying process. I decided this was just a beautiful piece and gave pressure casting it a try. It came out pretty good but not perfect. It is put on a Majestic Jr. hardware set.

The finish is DoctorsWoodshop pen finish for 10 or so coats then 5 coats of the high build from the same place. It is not supposed to be a high gloss finish. I have become alergic to CA so I don't finish like that anymore. This seems like a very good replacement and lets me work with the wood just a bit more closely. Anyway it is what I can still do so it is what I do.

Nice looking pen, I also use Doctors Woodshop finishes, seems to be a more natural. I love the burl!
