Hi folks, this is a rhodium ballpoint cigar dressed in manzanita burl with a redwood burl centerband.I trimmed of the thick portion of the original centerband and transmission coupler.I used the untrimmed portion of the centerband and assembled as usual so there wouldn't be any side to side slop at the twist joint.Comments and critiques welcomed.

I definitely agree with Brian, the center band treatment is a great idea and was the perfect choice for this pen. Very nice!

Thanks fellas, when making the cb I used the diameter of the trim ring to keep the profile close to what they would be with the original cb.I could have shaped it like the original part but I thought the smooth taper would flow better.

This is really nice, I like the lines and style a lot.
I especially like how you replaced the center band!!
What is your finish please??
And, a side question, what is your holder???

Thank you,the finish is thin flex CA by Hyperbond, wet sanded through 1500g 3M wet/dry paper then buffed with Dico plastic buffing compound.

The stand is something I got at the antique store,it was used to display a glass dip pen.
