I would like to show you some bamboo pens I just have finished this afternoon.
Three bamboo and Ebonite pens. The Cap/Barrel made form Bamboo grown here in Switzerland.
The other parts made from Ebonite, both Bamboo and Ebonite treated with Urushi lacquer, a technique called "Fuki-Urushi".
Fuki-Urushi is rubbing urushi into the Ebonite and Bamboo surface and let it dry for 24 hours. This process was repeated 5 times to give the surface a soft feeling.
One version straight shape with ebonite end/top, one straight shape with natural bamboo end, the third with a natural bamboo piece. Gold plated brass fittings. Length closed 11.00 cm, capped 13.50 mm.

Best regards,

Martin

Spectacular Pens Martin,
Did you not Heat the Leaf Knot End of the Bamboo, to Blacken it, or is that as a result of your Finishes?
Great Work on the Gold Plating of the Brass Fittings.
Love the Design and Concept.
Congratulations,
Brian.
