This morning I finished a pen with a new urushi lacquer. I call it "tame-momiji" on a black polished surface I applied momiji (Maple) leafs brushed with strongly pigmented yellow and orange urushi. After hardening, the leaves were removed with water. Then I applied some 15 layers of transparent urushi "tame". Now one can see the leaves shimmering through the "tame" layer. Since Urushi becomes more transparent with the time in maybe a year the leaves with be well visible.

Enjoy Sunday

You do such gorgeous work !!! . Thanks for showing all.

I am wondering what you use for the structural part of the pen ... which you turn and to which you apply the lacquers ?
