Manu Propria Pens - Safed from the Fireplace

Just finished two "Kiseru" Type pens made from pieces of well dried firewood.
The inside stabilized with ebonite, the pens lacquered with urushi, Negoro style.

But I need some assistance to figure out what exactly is the finished product for each pen.

Mal there are 2 pens. One of each view of the pen capped looking from both ends and a view of the pens with the cap off. The pen is used without the cap, non posting if you prefer. Think sword and scabbard and the light will come on.

The pen concept is leaned from the Japanese pipe Kiseru, see picture. Here the cap is almost storing the whole pen. So it is rather a desk pen than one to carry around. The idea of using a roughly cut piece of wood I got from a Japanese tea caddy that was made the same way. The lacquer is NEGORO-NURI that resembles the aesthetic concept Beauty through Use "Yô no Bi"

How is this done?

Before the wood was shaped I drilled a 18 mm hole and filled it with an ebonite rod that was glued in with urushi lacquer
