Last week I have finished a urushi pen for a customer in Austria.
It is a "Suisô" eye-dropper pen turned from Japanese ebonite.
The pictures show you how the pen and lacquer looked like before many layers of transparent urushi was applied and polished.
With the time the transparent upper layers will become more transparent and will release the colors underneath.
The customer wanted to have it lacquered very dark.

Best and enjoy wekend,

Martin

NOW YOU HAVE DONE IT!...

Made me fall off my chair as I viewed your progressive steps of build and finish on this pen. Absolutely love your work, and appreciate you showing the process. Mahalo for this thread! :)

...and I am just one tiny step short of coveting that pen!!

I love seeing you post. It's like I don't even need to think about. I just know I'm going to be hitting the "like" button.
